There’s no denying it – life seasons are universal. Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Ask an experienced farmer and they’ll tell you that different seasons require different methods of cultivation. Tools that are used in winter aren’t necessary in springtime. It is the responsibility of the farmer to be equipped to endure whatever season he finds himself in.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 declares, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”

As with the harvest of a farmer, we must also be prepared to endure your life seasons.

Your life. Your season. Your tools.

What tool are you called to use to endure during this season of your life? Maybe its an extra shot of patience, or a double-dose of self-control. Perhaps this season requires forgiveness, or surrender.

One thing I know, whatever the season, there is a tool in the toolbox of the Word of God to sustain you through it all.

The moment we understand that God’s plan for us is often cyclical, there’s a shift in our perspective. Endurance becomes the focus because we realize that God loves us too much and sacrificed too much in the shed blood of His Son to operate at less than a standard of Divine order and purpose.

Seasons. Change. Transitions. Evolution.

There’s no denying it—change, transition, and evolution are a part of life. But when we truly understand the seasons of our lives we can respond appropriately. Tough seasons develop our character. “Good” seasons develop our generosity.

No matter the season, the ultimate goal is to be conformed to the image of Jesus. So even though you may face seasons of lack, seasons when all you’re doing is surviving, seasons with rocky relationships, unanswered questions, weakened health, relentless heartbreak, it is important to remember that seasons change. No one season lasts forever.

While you wait for your season to change, know that God can bring you through every season of your life—irrespective of how dark, deep, or long they may be. Whatever you do, don’t allow a difficult season to weaken your trust in God’s ability to sustain you.

God has a plan for your life that must be fulfilled.

Put your trust in the “Author and Finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2). The one who knows the end of your season before it even begins. One thing is certain, after winter must come spring.

grace is available in life seasons

Farmers also understand that what you sow in one season, you will likely reap in another. Ezekiel 34:26 reveals God’s plan in blessing His children:

”I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing.” The Word of God assures that each of us is guaranteed seasons of joy, power, peace, and prosperity.

Above all, comfortable life seasons strengthen our faith and the faith of others!

Times of reaping remind us of God’s ability to provide and protect; and help us realize God’s continued direction over our lives. It is during these times you have the opportunity to encourage others with the hope and promise of a new season in their lives.
